Create your avatar and profile
The gist in 10 seconds
- Your profile is Settings → Profile: username, instruments, styles, level, city, bio, and your photo or your composed avatar.
- At 100%, the Community directory, the map and messaging open up: you see the musicians, they see you, you can write to each other. Before that, nothing opens.
- Your username is public; first and last name stay private. Your city is rounded to about ten kilometres.
- The avatar is composed in five tabs: Face, Hair, Outfit, Gear, Background. Or start from a style, or “Random”.
Why a complete profile
The Community works both ways: you only search, and only write, if you show yourself. Until your profile is at 100%, the directory, the map and messaging stay closed: you see nobody, nobody sees you. Jamodio shows the percentage and what is missing.

Open Settings → Profile
Top right of the app. Two blocks: Identity (username, photo or avatar, city, country, bio) and Musical profile (instruments, styles, level).

Choose your username
It is your public name: shown on your strip, in the members, in the directory. Your first and last name are never shown to other musicians.

Locate yourself: your city
Type your city and pick it from the list: that choice places it on the map and allows distance calculations. It is rounded to about ten kilometres in the database, nobody sees your address. The country fills in on its own.

Say what you play
One or more instruments, your styles, your level. These are the directory's filters: that is how you will be found. A two-line bio is enough: what you are looking for, your availability.

Compose your avatar (or add a photo)
Create my avatar opens the composer: Face (shape, skin tone, expression, beard), Hair (style, colour), Outfit (garment, colour), Gear (glasses and their colour, headwear and its colour), Background (background, pattern). “Start from a style” dresses everything in one click without touching your skin tone or hair colour; “Random” draws a combination. The preview shows it at real sizes (strip, members, directory). Use this avatar saves it. Prefer a photo? “Change photo” counts the same for completion.

Save, and check the Community
The Community block of the profile shows your status: “You appear in searches”, or what is left to complete. The Appear in the directory switch removes you whenever you want, without losing anything.
What counts towards the 100%.

If it does not work
- “City not located”: you typed the city without picking it from the list. Type it again and click a suggestion.
- The profile stays at 85%: the Community block lists what is missing. Often: the level, or the avatar.
- The avatar does not save: try again in a moment; if it persists, a photo does the job in the meantime.
- You appear but no longer want to: the “Appear in the directory” switch, in the profile. Your ongoing conversations remain.
